SSDB: Executive Director Assistant/Office Administration Position OPEN

The Saskatchewan Sheep Development Board is looking for a self-motivated individual, who is open to being involved in a wide variety of office and industry activities. You may be right for this role if you: have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team; skills in the use of basic computer programs (word, excel etc.); knowledge related to website maintenance and social media marketing; good communication and office administration skills; some knowledge of agriculture is an asset, but not required. 

Who is the Saskatchewan Sheep Development Board?

The Saskatchewan Sheep Development Board (SSDB) with its office in Saskatoon, has the provincial mandate for industry development and is considered the voice of the industry. The SSDB is a Not-for-profit producer organization that works on behalf of approximately 800 producer members across the province with a provincial breeding flock of approximately 60,000 breeding ewes.

The Saskatchewan Sheep Development Board activities include, – Representing and responding to the needs of all sheep and lamb producers of Saskatchewan, -Providing effective communications channels, -Providing marketing options and market information for lamb producers, – Providing education, extension and information transfer to assist producers in maximizing returns for lamb, sheep and sheep products,                 -Ensuring access to sheep and lambing supplies, – Promoting the lamb industry, the consumption of lamb, and the use of sheep products, – Implementation of the strategic plan developed by the sheep industry for the sheep industry, -Working in cooperation with government, other industry groups, associations, commissions, and committees which have objectives consistent with those of the Saskatchewan Sheep Development Board.

ED Assistant/Office Administration Tasks and Responsibilities.

  • Office reception and positive interaction with producers and customers.
  • Assist with receiving and processing producer inquiries via phone and e-mail.
  • Assist with Ewe Shoppe store inventory purchases and sales.
  • Manage website and online store by uploading information and new products.
  • Processing, packaging, and mailing orders.
  • General office tasks 

Schedule and work hours                                                                                                                                                                    Full time, permanent position Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
