Parasite Management Course
This is a one-day course designed to assist sheep and goat producers manage parasites on their farm. The course has been developed by Dr. Fabienne Uehlinger in partnership with the Saskatchewan Sheep Development Board. Course attendance will be limited to 25 participants to allow for good interaction and a positive learning experience.

Course Schedule
8:30 – 9:00 am – Registration
9:00 – 10:30 am – “Integrated Internal Parasite Management” by Dr. Fabienne Uelinger (Western College of Veterinary Medicine)
10:30 – 10:45 am – Break
10:45 – 11:30 am – “Drug Resistance in Gastrointestinal Parasites” by Dr. Camila Queiroz (CFIA)
11:30 – 11:45 am – Introduction and directions for afternoon activities
11:45 am – 12:30 pm – Lunch Break
12:30 – 2:30 pm – Lab Session – Performing fecal egg counts (producers can bring their own animal fecal samples for processing) by Dr. Emily Jenkins and Maria Jarque Trigo
2:30 – 2:45 pm – Break and move to barn
2:45 – 4:00 pm – Hands-on FAMACHA training and certification by Dr. Fabienne Uelinger. (Please bring suitable clothing to work with sheep in the barn.)
4:00 pm – Wrap Up
